Construction

I know that I haven't been the best at keeping up on my blog. So I will update. We had this wet bar in our house that in my opinion was out dated and a waste of space. I had this vision that it would be a great office space....so I (we) went to work. I tore down some 1950's mirrors from the wall (sorry, i forgot to take a picture of the before) and then I started to take some tile off the wall. The girls saw me doing this and decided they wanted to help. They are very good with a hammer and chisel. Notice the Protective gear.

Somewhere in the process I was painting and fell. I guess that my pregnancy judgment is impaired. Looking back at it it was very funny but I will save that story for another time. i just thought that this picture was cool.

So back to construction...when my dad was visiting he helped tear out the cabinet/sink unit. Behind this we found some mold. oh how pretty. This made the project a little more complicated. I began tearing out roted drywall and then I had to replace it and then plaster over a million tears and scrapes where adhesive had been. Once that was done..then began the process of rebuilding the area. We placed the base board and then started tiling. I found an awesome deal at habitat for humanity on some good quality cabinets. I am still very excited about them. Bren helped me install them. Now we are painting the cabinets a cherry wood finish and then working on a desk. I will keep you updated on our progress.

Washington - Oregon Reunion

We had an amazing time in Oregon and Washington for the past two weeks. We spend a week with my parents in Medford, then we drove to Seattle for sightseeing, then to Port Townsend, WA for our families reunion. It was sooooo nice, with average highs of 67 degrees! Beats the 114 in Phx!

Ward Campout

This past weekend was our Ward's Campout, Jen decided to be daring and went up Tuesday with all the kids. She camped with a few other families until I joined them on Friday night. The kids loved it! It was so nice and cool, it's just fun to get away! Anybody wanna join us in about a month or so?

Breakfast in Bed

Well, we told Sydney that if she ever slept in until 7 we would serve her breakfast in bed. Wouldn't ya know it, two days later she did. She usually gets up at 6, so we were a little surprised, but we kept our promise.

Sedona

Here are a few pics from Bury and I's trip to Sedona!! We rented a Honda Goldwing motorcycle and had three days to ourselves! I was a little nervous at first, but Bury is a good rider (he should be from work) and we had a blast! We went hiking, and shopping, and riding up Oak Creek Canyon!! Next time we need to go with some friends, any takers?

Birthdays

Ashlyn and Patten both
had birthdays in February.
Patten turned 1 on thursday. I made chocolate cupcakes with cream cheese and chocolate chips in the middle...Patten loved them. He started out by just dipping his finger in the frosting and then decided that it was okay so he stuffed his mouth. He was a messy boy! His sisters gave him extra attention and sang to him atleast ten times. I think that by the end of the day he was ready for his birthday to be over.

Ashlyn turned three the sunday before Pattens birthday. She got her pink cake and barbie bike. I am not a big fan of barbie for obvious reasons but it was on sale and I can't pass up a good sale. I took Ashlyn to the store to pick out what kind of cake she wanted and she picked out white cake with cherry frosting. Not exactly what I would of chosen but she is the birthday girl. I must say that in the end it was an excellent choice. Ashlyn told me that she needs two birthdays a year. I totally agree. I can't believe how fast they grow up.
