Construction

I know that I haven't been the best at keeping up on my blog. So I will update. We had this wet bar in our house that in my opinion was out dated and a waste of space. I had this vision that it would be a great office space....so I (we) went to work. I tore down some 1950's mirrors from the wall (sorry, i forgot to take a picture of the before) and then I started to take some tile off the wall. The girls saw me doing this and decided they wanted to help. They are very good with a hammer and chisel. Notice the Protective gear.

Somewhere in the process I was painting and fell. I guess that my pregnancy judgment is impaired. Looking back at it it was very funny but I will save that story for another time. i just thought that this picture was cool.

So back to construction...when my dad was visiting he helped tear out the cabinet/sink unit. Behind this we found some mold. oh how pretty. This made the project a little more complicated. I began tearing out roted drywall and then I had to replace it and then plaster over a million tears and scrapes where adhesive had been. Once that was done..then began the process of rebuilding the area. We placed the base board and then started tiling. I found an awesome deal at habitat for humanity on some good quality cabinets. I am still very excited about them. Bren helped me install them. Now we are painting the cabinets a cherry wood finish and then working on a desk. I will keep you updated on our progress.
